Come and join Study Auckland and Auckland Rugby for an amazing two-day experience.
You will:
- learn more about rugby – New Zealand’s favourite sport
- learn about the rules of the game
- practice ball handling skills
- meet other students from around the world
- meet Auckland Rugby players
- experience playing real games of touch rugby (the safe, non-contact version of rugby).
Better Leaders Programme 2019

In addition to the Rugby Have a Go Programme, we will be choosing a select group of 25 students to participate in a leadership programme in the morning before joining the group for the Rugby Have a Go Programme.
You will:
- look at leadership in a rugby context
- develop important leadership skills
- learn about resilience and how to overcome failure
- learn about the importance of team identity
- meet an ex-All Black and other Auckland Rugby coaches
- take a tour of Eden Park – the home of Auckland Rugby and New Zealand’s most famous stadium.
Application details
Rugby Have a Go is a free programme open to any international student aged 18+ currently studying in Auckland. No experience needed.
The programme has been developed by Auckland Rugby and is supported by Study Auckland as a way of helping students get to know New Zealand better and have some fun together.
